Meet the mighty Mux

Monday, January 5th, 2009

Name: Mux
Breed: Black Lab
Submitted by: Dean and Kim L. .

Mux will be 3 years old in February 2009. We got him neutered at six months and at eight months he had OCD surgery on the right shoulder. At 10 months he had an obstruction surgery to stomach and intestines (ate his bed). Then at 12 months he was hospitalized with the Corona virus he picked up at a kennel we boarded him at for two nights! Mux then had OCD surgery on his left shoulder at month 14. Finally at 16 months we thought we were home free, but at 18 months he sliced the back of his leg open and had to have surgery to close it up to heal properly. With all this, Mux has constant ear infections. We continually purchase the Cosequin from EntirelyPets.com to help with maintenance of joint problems into the future. Mux is a high maintenance, expensive!, million dollar baby!!!
He is a strong swimmer (great therapy) and is an excellent pheasant hunter!
We love him dearly!

Meet the lovely Ellesmeara

Monday, December 29th, 2008

Name:Ellesmeara
Breed: English Springer Spaniel
Submitted by: Scott, Marleen & Chelsea

I am two years old & I belong to Scott, Marlene & Chelsea.  We live in the beautiful mountains of Flat Rock, North Carolina. I think I’m human, but they say I’m an English Springer Spaniel.  Maybe that’s why I have this strange fascination for squirrels.  My favorite toy from Entirely Pets is the Busy Buddy Rubber Football. I love to eat apples and most other kinds of fruits and vegetables. I absolutely love to go bye-bye with my family and I despise staying home when I can’t.  I like to shake hands but most of all I love to fetch and chase butterflies.

Name: Mr. Copenhagen
Breed: Bullmastiff
Location: Birkeroed,
Denmark, Scandinavia
Submitted by: Christina Højgaard
Favorite EntirelyPets Toy: Teddy Snake

HI there

My heart is Zakaa - real pedigree name: Roseyard’s Mr. Copenhagen. He is a 4 y old intact Bullmastiff male. He is so loving and social, that everybody just falls for him. His favourite toy is a teddy snake, which sounds like a pig once you squeeze it.. should he need more attention, he suddenly just stands in front of you with the snake in his mouth. He does many tricks, his favourite one would be sneezing, which is to much regret if he stands in front of a glass door…. But very funny. His favourite friend is a red 7 y. old intact Cocker Spaniel.

Meet King Titan

Monday, December 1st, 2008

Name: Titan
Breed: Half Shih-Tzu/Half Poodle
Location: Castro Valley, CA
Submitted by: Shannon
Favorite EntirelyPets Toy: All Plush Toys

Likes: Like belly rubs, even from strangers (even in the dirtiest area) and will just turn over sporadically. Titan also likes to act as a mediator when dogs are fighting (which can be funny or dangerous).
Dislikes: He HATES clothes, he will freeze and not move until I take it off.
Other Info: He sets his own eating schedule (like I leave food in the bowl and he eats throughout the day), barks at the ice machine in my fridge, and I have never seen him hump anything (I wonder if he still has male hormones).

Shake Paws with Augie Doggy

Monday, October 20th, 2008

Name: Augie Doggy
Breed: Dalmatian Mix
Location: Port St. Lucie, FL
Submitted by: Karen Becker
Favorite EntirelyPets Toy: She loves her Kong

This is Augie.  We were driving home from our North Carolina vacation to south Florida last August when we suddenly noticed her sitting at the side of the pavement on the interstate in the middle of nowhere-Florida.  We pulled off at the next exit and got back on the highway northbound looking for a place to turn around.  We finally found a spot and searched for her.  When we stopped, she hid in a dense Palmetto thicket. I knew where she was because I could hear her tail slapping against the leaves. With the help of some dog food, I was able to crawl in and grab her. She was skin & bones, filthy and covered with ticks.  We drove the next 120 miles home picking off ticks and trying to keep our Jack Russell Terrorist from attacking her.  Now, a year later, she is a beautiful, 34 pound bundle of energy and our Jack Russell’s best friend.  She is still skittish, but wags her tail constantly and is a wonderful addition to our family. When she gets excited, she has a silly smile. Favorite Food: Science Diet (Sensitive Stomach). Favorite Trick: She loves to smile & shake hands. Favorite Hobby: Spends hours watching for squirrels from her perch on our screen porch.

Simon Says Run!

Monday, October 6th, 2008

NAME: Simon
BREED: English Setter
LOCATION: Richardson, Texas
SUBMITTED BY: Joe Messina
FAVORITE DOG FOOD: Dick Van Patten’s Duck & Potato
FAVORITE TOY: Kongs
FAVORITE TRICK: Run Faster Than You!

Simon is six years old and loves to run, averaging 6 to 10 miles per day. His favorite trick is weaving in and out of agility poles; he holds Agility titles from AKC, NADAC as well as an AKC Rally Obedience Title. He is also a great swimmer, but is reluctant to get wet except on his terms - he is English you know. He plays like a puppy despite his age, often picking up toys he has had since we rescued him. He also tries to get someone to chase him, but he has the advantage because of his 40 mph speed!

Say “Hi” to Sohi!

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

NAME: SoHi
BREED: Teacup Chihuahua
LOCATION: Stevensville, MT
SUBMITTED BY: Carol Stevens
FAVORITE DOG FOOD: Royan Canin for Chihuahua’s
FAVORITE TOY: Teenie Greenies
FAVORITE TRICK: Treat Toss

I really like to scoot along on my tummy kicking my back feet until someone pets me, then I roll over onto my back to get my tummy rubbed. I really don’t like it when my mom and dad take our master’s attention away from me, because after all, I think I am the cutest Chihuahua in this house! And I’m the youngest at ten months old! My favorite trick is that I like to hold my treat in my paws and when nobody is looking I occasionally toss it up into the air and then go fetch it, and start all over again

Meet Ben, the Pet of the Week!

Friday, September 26th, 2008

NAME: Ben
BREED: Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever
FAVORITE TOY: Classic Kong

Ben is 5 months old in the photo and had been digging for a rock in an underground spring. When he dug it out he was much more muddy and the rock was huge! Fortunately he loves to swim and went swimming and got clean. He loves the Kong toys for chewing and squeaky balls for fetching. He has a strobe lighted ball for nights that is really a hit, and is fond of tearing out the squeaker (heart) on stuffed animals. As much as he loves the water he does not like to be sprayed by the hose. His favorite trick is “touch” when he touches his nose to the palm of my hand. It is like a kiss without a wet tongue! Love it too!
