Product Review: Litter Robot Auto Self-Cleaning Litter Box

November 21st, 2008

Love It!!!!

This is an incredible product! Unlike the littermate that gets the waste stuck in the rake, it’s clean, easy and completely worth the money. Once a week you go out and pull out the drawer, take out the garbage bag, put in a new one and your done. It needs a little litter added once in a while and the outside cleaned once in a while. The only negative is if you have a bigger cat - they have a little more difficulty turning around and if they don’t the waste goes on the outside of the litter robot!!! They have excellent customer service and training ideas to help your cat adjust. I used Dr. Elsey’s litter attract to help get them started which worked great. I’ve had it for 2 years now with 2 cats and it’s still works great! Cuts down the smell as well.

Two-faced Kitten Born in Australia

November 21st, 2008

Eats with one mouth, meows from both.

In the land down under of Perth, Australia, a kitten was born with two faces. The mother had complications during delivery but the kitten appears to be doing well. Currently unnamed, the owner considers calling it Quasi Modo. Nurse, Louisa Burgess said in her 12 year career, she had never seen a two faced cat before. “I have seen cats with two tails and extra legs, but not this,” she said. She also mentioned that, “It has a full tummy and it survived the night so that is a good sign. It seems content, it meows and purrs.”

The kitten is only capable of eating out of one moouth due to a cleft palate. There have been other reports of two-faced kittens. A kitten with four eyes, two noses, and one mouth in Ohio, died five days after. In Texas, a two-faced kitten born in a litter of seven.

Customer Review: EntirelyPets Store/Pharmacy

November 19th, 2008

The prices are definately the biggest selling point of ENTIRELYPETS.com, being at least 35% less than the normal cost. This is especially important for essential pet items such as Flea, ticks, and heartworm preventatives. Medications can also be purchased very inexpensively and generic brands are available. Shipping is also very inexpensive–$5.00 flat rate for just about all the items. And an order of $100+ shipping is free (so it pays to get together with friends and family with pets and bulk-order). Delivery time is great. It took about a week to receive my order from the time it was sent out, from the West Coast to the East Coast. The website and the product search engine could be better though, but that’s not a huge complaint. Customer service was also very satisfactory, and notifications were immediately sent via email and phone calls such as problems with prescription authorizations from the vet.

Over all, this is probably the BEST online pet store and pharmacy. I highly recommend it!

Ask The Vet: Early Arthritis in Pets

November 12th, 2008

Question:

What is the average age a dog can start having arthritis? It seems like my dog Jake has been getting lazier everyday and struggles to climb the stairs.
- Jakes Mom

Answer:
Arthritis can hit a dog at many different stages of his or her life. When trying to recognize a dog with arthritis certain actions by the dog will be noticeable. Some of the signs are limping, favoring certain limbs more than others, reluctant to rise after resting. You will also be able to tell if your dog is stiffer in the morning and wants to rest and sleep longer hours. Remember it’s always good to take preventive actions in order to help your dog in the future.

Product Review: Miracle Coat Quick Finder

October 29th, 2008

No Longer Nervous! Great Product! Miracle Coat Quick Finder Review

Miracle Coat Quick Finder

I’ve been afraid to cut my dog’s nail since I adopted him. The last time I tried we went through 3 bloody socks before he was done bleeding and I’ve been taking him to the groomers ever since. So of course when I saw this I was completely skeptical. How can a machine actually tell you where it’s OK to cut? Still don’t know how it works, but it does! I start at the base of my dog’s tonail where the “quick” is and press the sides. The red light will come on and I slide it down towards the tip of the nail. I start cutting at the very end of the tip where I definitely know the blood is NOT. Little by little I cut towards the base… VERY little by little. Eventually I get so close to green yellow and red that I just stop cutting. We’re at the point that I could probably just eyeball it, but it’s very comforting to have the Quick Finder. I would recommend this tool for every dog owner who wants to save a few bucks and time spent at the groomers. The cut is smooth and I haven’t had a broken nail yet!

Product Review: Pedi Paws

A Magical Nail Filer! Pedi Paws Reviews

Pedi Paws ReviewMy pomeranian and I have been fighting about her nails for THREE years. She doesn’t sit still, she doesn’t want me to cut them. One day I saw the Pedi Paws on TV and wanted to order online. I read about 20 reviews about bad sites to order on. Luckily I saw that entirely pets had it on their site because I’ve ordered from them before and I trust their site. We got the Pedi paws a few days later and I was extremely eager to try it out. I praised my pom for letting me turn the motor on near her until she finally got comfortable with the sound. Eventually I did a few nails and it completely worked! No more tap dancing on my pergo floors with her long nails! They’re round and smooth, don’t snag on my blankets or scratch me at night! Thanks to Pedi Paws and thanks to entirelypets for carrying them!!!

Favorite EntirelyPets Toy: Joint Treats MINIS

I received lady a year ago. She was my brothers dog, and has been in my care since my brother passed away in November from cancer. Before he died, he asked me to watch over his little lady. My husband and I love her so much, she’s brought a lot of joy into our lives. She hates baths, but loves her treats. She’s very smart and knows how to roll over, sit, stay and lay down on command.
